Died on the 7th inst. of consumption at residence of R.T. Allen, near Berwick in her 31st year, Mrs. Jane A. Quinby, consort of Ivory Quinby, Esq. of this county. She was daughter of Benjamin W. Allen, Esq. and native of Oneida Co. New York. In early part of her life she moved to Ashtabula, Ohio, and came to this state with father's family in 1835. Eulogy.

Died at residence of Mrs. Celia A. Taliafaro on Fall Creek in Henderson Co. on 28 January, her daughter, Celia Talifaro, after a four week illness of typhoid fever. (later corrected to January 27, age 16 years.)

Died at Ellisville, Fulton Co. on 2 inst., Daniel Christ, Sen. in the 70th year of his age.

She was native of Wales, Hampden Co. Mass., born July 9, 1824, married Gen. Stapp in 1843, moved west in 1844. Long Eulogy appears March 5.

Died on the St. Louis, Mo., 6th inst. of inflammation of brain, Silas Reed, Jr. aged 20m, 19d.

Died at the residence of her son, David McNeil, Esq. near Astoria in Fulton Co. on 21 March, Mrs. Martha McNeil widow of the late Daniel McNeil, Sen, in 83rd year. She was born August, 1764 in Litchfield, N.H. Her father was a captain in the Continental Army. She was the oldest child. In December 1788, she married Daniel McNeil of Hillsboro, N.H. In 1805, she moved to Ontario, New York; in 1821 to Gibson Co. Ind., and in 1825 to Fulton Co. Ill. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. She buried her husband 8 years ago and lost a 4th son who left a family. She leaves nine children—five sons & four daughters; three died young. Long obit.

Wellman; left four children—one by her first husband.

Died 15th inst. in Monmouth, Rev. Samuel Wilson, Pastor of Presbyterian Church, aged 53 years. He was born in 1797 in Rockbridge, Virginia, the eldest of three sons and first born. He was classics student at Columbia and Greensburg, Kentucky. He married in 1827 and is the father of five children, four living. He emigrated from Kentucky, where he had lived since he was three years old, to Illinois in 1836; first to Rushville. He has been a resident of Monmouth eight years. Long eulogy.

Joseph Fitch, age 17, has run away from H.G. Brown, Henderson Grove, Knox Co., Illinois. 1 cent reward.

August 27

Died 17th inst. near Monmouth, Stella, infant daughter of H.C. & S.M. Hord, age ly, 6m, 19d.

Died 25th in Monmouth after suffering 11 days, Aurelius A. Williams, member of Methodist Episcopal Church. He was learning the carpentry and joiner business.

Died 27th ult., John McCartney, Esq, age 57 years, at his residence at Ellison, Warren Co, He was a native of Orange Co. NC; six years later emigrated with his parents to Blount Co. TN where he married in 1816 Margaret Bayde. In 1840, he moved here; member of Presbyterian church. He served under Gen. Jackson. Left aged, but pious widow and six children. He was also a Justice of the Peace.

Died on the 26th ult. at her residence in Berwick, Mrs. Martha Matteson, aged 69 years. She was born in 1779 in CT, but her youth was spent in Shaftsbury, Vermont. She married Capt. Peleg Matteson in 1812 and he survives her. She was the mother of six children. She connected with the Baptists in 1793. The greater part of her life was spent in Rate, New York and she moved here in 1839. Eulogy.
