Died on the 31 inst.[sic], Mrs. Elizabeth G. Grey aged 42 years, wife of Rev. Jos. J. Grey. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and generally lamented.

Died on the 11 December, Alexis Phelps, Esq. of Oquawka from congestive chill. He died at his residence after only a few hours illness. Names brother, S.S. Phelps. Deceased was severely affected by the loss in a short time of his daughter, Mr. Rise, his brother-in-law, Mr. Patterson, his son Alexis, and his niece, his brother Alexis' daughter. Deceased was born in Palmyra, Ontario (now Wayne Co.) New York in August, 1800. His father was Judge Stephen Phelps who removed from Palmyra to Canandaigua [sic]. Mentions brother Myron.
