Philip Miller is taxed for 400 acres on the Missouri River (St. John Township and that is where Ephraim Jamieson was living.

John Miller in Boeff Township.  

Looking for 20-30 year old male, Benjamin, who married Sarah Jamieson, daughter of  Ephraim Jamieson. That is also where the Dents, Hintons, Caldwells, Barclays, etc. were living.  

Only two fit, both in Boeff Township.

p. 141 Phillip Miller 3 males under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 15-20, 1 male 20-30; 1 male 50-60; 1 female 5-10, 1 female 10-15, 2 females 15-20, 1 female 20-30; 1 female 40-50. Next door is John Miller with the eldest male 30-40; no 20-30 in the household. This is probably Phillip and Lucy Miller, Mahala McBride’s parents. They show no association with the group in Hickory.

Philip Miller left a will dated 24 January 1845 in which he gave his farm to wife Lucy, personal property and slaves. He named the following children: Samuel C.W. Miller (land and description), Prudence, Oliver H.P., America N., Emily Miller, Robert W. Miller, James F. Miller and Barton A. Miller. Son John W. Miller to be educated at Bethany College, Va. for two years. Daughters Nancy, Lavina, Elizabeth, Mahala, Lucinda, Naomi and sons Benjamin and Daniel.

Renames sons in the following order: Daniel, Benjamin, Samuel C.W., Oliver H.P., Robert W., James F. Barton A., John W. and George W. daughters Nancy, Lavina, Mahala, Prudence, America A., Emily and Naomi Miller.

            Nathan D. Lane partner in Mercantile Business Exr: James K. Rule and Lucy Miller. Friends David Edwards, Williamson Rogers and John Miller are indebted. Book B:14.

iii.        Lavina Miller b. 22 October 1808; d. 12 December 1894; m. 11 Oct. 1829, Franklin County, Missouri,  Zebedee Shelton b. 13 April 1804 in Grainger county, Tennessee. They moved to Yamhill County, Oregon by 1850s. (Oregon Donation) #202

iv.        Stephen Miller; not mentioned in father’s will 

iv.        Elizabeth Miller b. 22 May 1807 in Missouri;  d. 1839 (according to son’s biography) m. 8 Oct. 1826 Scudder Smith. Benjamin Miller was the guardian for the children after Scudder’s death in Polk County.
