His household consisted of Nancy, age 42 b. KY, David L., age 22 b. MO, Mary A., age 14 b. MO, James T. age 12 b. MO, Joseph M., age 9 b. MO and Margaret Hall, age 18 b. MO.

His daughter, Mary, of Washington Twp., m. 16 Dec. 1870, Richard Creach (The Herald 29 Dec. 1870.)

William Dudley of St. Clair County, died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel F. Hurt of Stockton January 30, aged 82y, 11m, 28d. He was one of the oldest residents of St. Clair County. His remains were taken there (Horn Cemetery) to lie alongside his beloved companion who departed but a few short months ago. (Feb. 2) He was born 2 February 1811 in Virginia, now West Virginia, and arrived in Lincoln County, Missouri in 1832. He first married Almeda Jamison. She died, leaving one son, David Dudley. William then married, in 1843, Nancy Stevens. They went to Texas and on his return, he stopped to visit his brother, James Dudley, and while here purchased a farm in Doyal Township, St. Clair County, where he has lived since 1848. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Church and the father of five children; three sons and two daughters, one (of whom) survives. bur. Horn Cemetery. (Feb. 16 1894) Nancy b. 1 January 1818; d. 18 Sept. 1893, w/o Wm. William Dudley b. 2 February 1811 d. 30 January 1894.
