William Brown of St. Clair County, Missouri (formerly of Washington County, Kentucky)

Estate and lawsuit in St. Clair County.In 1848 William Brown died in St Clair County, Missouri. Before his death, he agreed to convey to Zephaniah Offult 1/2 of tract of land. William Brown conveyed to Elizabeth widow of Zephaniah and now wife of Henry Reese 1/2 of said tract. He also agreed to convey to the children of Elizabeth and Zephaniah (his grandchildren) the other half.

William Brown had daughter Elizabeth, who m. (1) Zephaniah Offult; (2) Henry Reese. She died before 5 March 1858 and suit was continued again her heirs.

Zephaniah Offult died leaving Edward, William, Zephaniah, Andrew, Margaret, Ruth, John, Susan and Nancy. A daughter Catharine who m. Martin Wright and died leaving one child, Catharine.

Washington Dorrell was next friend of John Offult, Susan Offult, Mary Offult and Catherine Wright, minors under 14.  They live with Henry Reese. Andrew Offult, Margaret Offult and Ruth Offult are over 14 and have Washington as next friend.
